Abstract CD-ROM’s will be distributed in the registration area at the Attendee Materials Pickup Counters. The abstracts will also be available online at www.SearchAndDiscovery.com as the convention nears. Just click to browse by Abstracts of Meetings and then select AAPG 2014 ACE. The abstracts are only available in these digital formats.

Check in with free email service available in the Cyber C@fé, located inside the exhibition hall during show hours.

Electronic Capturing

Photographing or recording contents of oral or poster presentations or exhibition booths via any electronic media is strictly prohibited at all AAPG conventions and conferences.

Judges' Room

Location: Room 340 A/B

All judges should stop by the Judges’ Room to pick up packets prior to their assigned sessions. You may enjoy a beverage while you receive final instructions and answers to any questions regarding the judging process. Completed scorecards should be returned to the Judges’ Room as soon as possible after evaluation your session. Workspace is provided for you to complete scorecards, if needed. All qualified judges will have their name entered into a drawing to win an iPad once their ballots are returned to the Judges’ Room. The winner will be announced following the close of the convention.

Lost and Found

Location: Registration, Exhibition Hall D

Items found during the convention should be turned in at Registration. If you lose an item, check with Registration. If your item has not been turned in you may leave information on how to contact you should the item be found.

Luggage Check

Location: Explore Houston, Level 2 across from the sky bridge to Hilton Americas
Day: Wednesday
Time: 7:30AM–6:30PM

A luggage check is available at a cost per item checked. All items (purses, coats, luggage, etc.) are $5 each.

No Smoking Policy

Smoking is prohibited in the Convention Center.

Parking

The Convention Center offers a 1,600-space parking garage located at the corner of Polk Street and Avenida de las Americas. There are two skywalks connecting the George R. Brown Convention Center and Hilton Americas-Houston.

Details

Shuttle bus transportation is available to and from the hotels listed above and the convention center for your convenience. Please note that a few hotels are within walking distance of the convention center and will not be serviced by shuttle buses. (Hilton Americas, Four Seasons, Embassy Suites and Holiday Inn Convention Center). Lobby D is the pick-up and drop off point for the convention center. Look for “AAPG Shuttle” signs in the selected hotel lobbies and registration area at the convention center.

Speakers and Poster Presenters Breakfast

Location: Room 342

All oral and poster presenters and session co-chairs should attend the complimentary continental breakfast at 6:45 a.m. on the morning of their session. Oral presenters and co-chairs will receive instructions for session timing, introductions, electronic presentations, session room set-up and use of audiovisual equipment. Speakers are required to check in at the Speakers Service Center and leave their electronic presentation with the technical support personnel. Poster presenters and co-chairs will receive last-minute instructions regarding booth layout, set-up/teardown, poster assistance station and time required to be in the booth. Presenters must wear their badges with the poster presenter ribbon attached to enter the poster session area before hours of setup. Ribbons are available in the Speakers Service Center Room 340 A/B.
