Hans G. Machel, received his M.Sc. at the Technical University in Braunschweig, Germany in 1980. He then emigrated to Canada and completed his Ph.D. under the supervision of Eric Mountjoy at McGill University in 1985. While completing his university degrees, Hans worked part-time for Texaco Germany and Petro Canada in Calgary. From 1985-1987 he did a postdoctoral fellowship at Louisiana State University with Clyde Moore. He joined the University of Alberta in 1987, where he as been a professor ever since.
Jay M. Gregg is Professor of Geology and V. Brown Monnett Chair of Petroleum Geology at the Boone Pickens School of Geology at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Dr. Gregg completed his B.S degree in 1974 from Bowling Green State University with majors in Geology and Biology. He received his M.S. in Geology from Oklahoma State University (1976) and his Ph.D. in Geology from Michigan State University (1982).
